Albania, as well as other countries of Western Balkans is facing during these two decades and has focused on issues such as the country democratization, rule of law, protection of individual and minority rights, economic development. Challenges for the region, except completion of three Copenhagen criteria, has been and continues to be the fight against organized crime, illegal trafficking, and cooperation and regional development, as an important part of the journey of these countries towards EU integration. Albania during these years has been and continues to be Part of these challenges; this paper focuses on analyzing precisely the achievements and failures of the Albanian government in confronting these challenges and expectations of internal and regional.
